Feather to Foothills

The BCRCD is involved in a partnership of private, nonprofit, and government agencies managing a 70 square mile corridor of habitat restoration and natural resource conservation projects on working lands in southern Butte County. Ongoing efforts provide a critical corridor for wildlife between the Central Valley and the Sierra Foothills. Highlighted properties in the map below show current participants, totaling over 10,000-acres of land, and 11 miles of riparian habitat on tributaries of the Feather River. Current and future projects include: anadramous fish restoration, conservation easements, pollinator habitat, riparian restoration, farm edge hedgerows, oak woodland restoration, invasive species removal, beaver dam analogues, bird boxes, applied research, and education.
