Thad Walker, District Manager
In addition to serving as District Manager, Thad is a specialist in natural-surface roads and trails assessment and manages several restoration projects for the RCD, such as the North County Forest Roads Inventory, the Dixie Road post-Camp Fire repair project, and the Upper Park Road sediment reduction project. Forest roads are usually the biggest source of sedimentation in a watershed, so fixing them is not just good for users, it's also good for creeks and fish. Thad has 5 years' experience assessing and remedying hydroconnected routes, including leading trainings in appropriate route-building and erosion control techniques. Knowing that a great trails system is directly tied to a community's quality of life, jobs, and economic development, Thad also serves on the boards of Chico Velo and the Butte County Forest Advisory Committe.
